These pieces are sculptures made from assorted hardwoods, somewhat resembling the “gramophone”.
Made to naturally amplify the sounds from a smartphone or iPad using the wood as an acoustic instrument (i.e: music; conversation; and ring tone) using no batteries or electricity.

I have been in the woodworking business for over 30 years. My daughter, who works with me, was working in the shop with me as we set an iPhone in a random box as the music was playing. The music echoed out of the box. We looked at each other and then looked at our supply of of walnut and cherry wood. I said, ” Let’s make it look like the Victrola!” This was about 8 years ago. We have been making them ever since.
